The Edmonton Cold Weather Animal Rescue Society is proud to release its 2025 Annual Report based on our various reports from our AGM meeting held on May 2, 2026.

What began in 2020 as a small grassroots effort helping cats in crisis has grown into a registered Alberta charity supported by more than 24,000 community members, volunteers, guardians, donors, and advocates.

Today, ECWAR operates a large rescue network focused on helping abandoned, injured, medically fragile, and at-risk cats throughout Edmonton and surrounding communities.

This report provides an overview of the organization’s growth, rescue statistics, medical and trapping programs, adoption successes, fundraising efforts, financial position, and future goals.

It reflects not only the scale of the work being done, but also the dedication of the people behind it: the fosters, transporters, trappers, medical teams, shelter builders, volunteers, and supporters who make this mission possible every single day. Most importantly, it represents the thousands of cats whose lives have been changed through compassion, persistence, and community support.
