Interac & Credit Card Donations

We welcome donations for our work.

Since June 2024, we have been an Alberta non-profit society, the Edmonton Cold Weather Animal Rescue Society.

On February 10, 2026, we were granted charitable status by CRA 780249827RR0001. 

Donations made on or after January 1, 2026, are eligible to receive a tax receipt.

All monies go into the Society's bank account.  All monies go to rescue activities.  We do not set aside donations for particular animals unless specifically stated. All monies go to help all animals and the rescue.  Financial statements are posted on our FB page every few months.

Monetary donations can be made by e-transfer and credit card.

Donations & Charitable Tax Receipts

We received notification on February 10 that ECWAR is now approved by CRA as a charitable organization.  Our approval is backdated to January 1, 2026.

PLEASE READ: TO RECEIVE A TAX RECEIPT, YOU MUST CHECK THE BOX BELOW AND FILL OUT THE FORM. You only have to fill out this form ONCE, not for every donation.

If you have already donated by e-transfer in 2026 and would like a tax receipt, please check the box and complete the form so we have all the information required by the CRA to send you a charitable receipt by email via CanadaHelps.  These will likely be sent out in January of 2027.

Credit Card

We are now using "Canada Helps" as our credit card processor. Online donations processed through CanadaHelps will receive an immediate tax receipt issued directly by CanadaHelps for donations of $3.00 or more.

IMPORTANT!  If you currently have a subscription to donate monthly through our Square portal, please cancel it and set up a new monthly subscription below.  This will ensure you get your tax receipts as quickly as possible.

PLEASE READ: For those who have donated to us via our Square portal between January 1 and February 20 and wish for a tax receipt, please fill out this form.

You can make a one-time donation or set up a monthly donation from your credit card until you cancel. Make sure you choose whether this is a one-time or a monthly subscription when you fill out the form.
