Toby is the embodiment of the phrase ‘scaredy cat.’ He was very nervous when he first arrived and hid in his guardian’s closet for the first two weeks and came out only at night to eat.
He got incrementally better each day and now he will let his guardian pet him if he sniffs her hand first and sees the pet coming. If he is caught by surprise he will scurry into hiding. He seems like a gentle soul who likes a quiet routine and is unnerved by children. He has bonded with his guardian’s one year old kitten, so he would do best in a quiet home with one other cat he can play and cuddle with.
